We're hooked! Kung fu here we come!

I (mom) took Christian to a karate class last night at our fitness center. He loved it and I loved watching him concentrate, do the moves and have fun.

At first when I told him I wanted to take him to the class he didn't want to go, saying he was a little scared. Of course, bribery always works, so I told him after we would get him a treat. Well... he ran up to me as the class ended and exclaimed in his best little, excited boy voice, "That was so fun, Mom! Can we come back tomorrow?" That was a Mom big-smiling-moment.

This class actually turned out to be a more advanced for him, but we'll find something that fits very soon. It's going to be great for his strength, balance and coordination.

"Grasshopper, you must believe, but do not go in fear. Go instead with inner strength. For it is like a deep river, into which all streams flow. It increases, always moving forward. And soon, there is nothing that can stand in its way."

What are the odds?

It's official! Lincoln rounded it out yesterday at the pediatrician. Four children get a cold, and four children get double ear infections! Is there a good statistician for that math problem? We have a pharmacy of antibiotics and a medicine schedule to make your head spin. It's all fun and games until ALL your kids get double ear infections within a week and a half!

Our Sweetheart - Calle

Recently, Calle had a trip up to her home-away-from- home, the hotel - Primary Children's Hospital. Our entire family got a cold and because everything is worse on Calle, it turned into RSV. Our stay was only 3 days and 2 nights, sufficiently enough to go a little stir crazy. Calle came home on oxygen but recovered very well after a few more days. She is standing up to her dresser here doing one of her favorite things in her room, flipping the handles so they make noise. Such a sweetheart!

Think "inside" the box

How do you prepare for a half marathon?

A crazy idea, 14 weeks of training, 3 awesome running friends, a reasonable workout schedule, a super supportive husband, a treadmill and gym near by, and...lots and lots, and lots and lots of DETERMINATION!
