Wow...twins is certainly a crazy world in parenting, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
You can find Lia, playing the long-awaited role of 'mom', at home with the kids. She bounces from feedings, to diaper changes, to washing bottles, untangling oxygen tubes, and is very grateful for nap time only to do it all over again every couple of hours.
Lia fends off cabin fever, mommy blues and insanity by reading her scriptures to the kids, mini naps, catching bits of Dr. Phil and Oprah, talking on the phone, and doing the grocery shopping when dad gets home. Her goal is to at least think about scrapbook ideas and shuffle around her supplies once a week. Her genuine free time is spent doing fun household chores, shopping for scrapbook supplies that she'll use when the twins enroll in kindergarten, and keeping up on their journal.
Calle and Christian think their dad is the greatest. They love that he is always happy to see them, spends lots of time playing with them, and even let's them help him work on the computer. Their dad even sings "Itsy Bitsy Spider" to them in Spanish (this has put dad over-the-top for 'parent of the month', twice in row).
Matt continues to do a stellar job for Workers Compensation Fund. Recently, they asked us to speak at their March of Dimes, employee fundraiser kickoff. March of Dimes is focusing on prematurity through 2008. Matt created a short computer presentation highlighting milestone pictures of the kids and we told the story of our journey.
Matt can't wait to do a little fishing and often tells Calle and Christian of the fun times he'll have baiting their hooks while watching them fish.
