Milestones

Doesn't hitting milestones tend to set you pondering...introspective moments, I'm calling them.
This is what I've calculated:

-29 years plus several more (but who's counting)
-14 jobs (the best and most challenging is being a Mom)
-1 most awesome, I'm talking 'the best', husband
-4 beautiful children
-1 speeding ticket
-2 sets of scriptures
-7 major surgeries
-2 times almost dying
-3 red sports cars
-7600 pairs of disposable contact lenses (okay, no I really don't know how many) :)
-1 official half marathon (the 13.1 club)
-203 miles ran (Dec 30, 08 - Jun 30, 09) ((that's like running from my house to Beaver, Utah))
-2 root canals (ouch!)
-a bajillion bad decisions and mistakes (not to mention bad hair days)
-a quadjillion diapers changed (still going)
-a couple hundred thousand desserts with caramel in them (still not enough)
-some of the greatest friends in the universe
-not enough: books read, prayers said or dates with my hubby
and
much, much, much appreciation for this life the Lord has given me and all the lessons learned (and still learning)

Find beauty...give love...share laughter

Spring updates...

Feels like a super long time since I blogged...
(Erin, you read my mind).

Here are my quick updates with more to come later-

While I LOVE running, (it's my freedom, my sanity, my high-on-life boost) I didn't so much catch the 'marathon bug' that can often bite after wards. I MIGHT do another Half Marathon this year, but I'm thinking 10Ks are right up my alley. Thinking out loud.... maybe my next running goal is to do a 10K in 10 minute miles. My time now fluctuates between 12 and 14... way up there. I'm definitely not going for anything like my dentist, for instance, he runs 7 minute miles- ouch!

I had the opportunity (by the grace of a darn helpful family) to attend BYU Women's Conference for two days straight. WOW! What a great experience! I have oodles and oodles of notes and a renewed testimony of the Lord's Gospel.

I have new and exciting scrapbook project. It's going to take a lot of time, but it will be soooooo worth it. I'm so looking forward to seeing how it turns out. I'd say more, but it's a Christmas present so I can't spoil it.

Mother's Day is coming up. I think it should be called women's day or something similar. I think all women at one time or another help mother children, even if they don't have any of their own yet, or ever. I got my present early.. a fabulous running watch. I love it!

Latest funny: Riding home in the van after a super fun time with friends who have kids our kids' ages.
Christian said: "Mom, Dad, I have a tweezel in my hand and it really hurts."
I said: "You have a what?"
Ch: "My hand really hurts, there's a tweezel in it."
Mom: "You mean you have a sliver?"
Ch: "No!" "I said I have a tweezel in my hand"
Mom: "Honey, it looks like you have a sliver in your hand. We can use the 'tweezers' to help get it out."
Ch: "No, Mom it's a tweezel and dad can get it out."

Well, isn't that nice :)

Pasta Party!

I forgot to take a picture of the mounds of awesome pasta we all brought tonight for our own 'pasta party'. I guess it's tradition to have a pasta pig out the night before you Marathon (or in our case 1/2 marathon).

What a fun carb load! I love you gals!

Here's to us crossing the finish line before 10 am! We can do it!

GO MARATHON MOMMIES!!!
