We rounded out July with Calle's G-tube surgery at Primary Children's; Dr. Downy did the procedure and all went well. Afterwards she was taken up to the Infant Unit where she spent the night with mom by her side. Calle recovered great, however, we were rather uneasy only due to location, the Infant Unit is right across the hall from the NICU. Between the location in general, the all-to-familiar cafeteria, and the hospital smells, many repressed memories found their way back into our minds. We were anxious to get home and late afternoon the next day we were discharged. Grandma Goldsberry helped watch Christian during the day on Monday and Tuesday, and we're sure she and Grandpa slept well both nights!

The day after we got Calle home from her surgery, we noticed two of her bottom teeth were coming up. What an unexpected surprise! We went to the LDS Hospital NICU reunion on Saturday, August 7th. It was interesting to see familiar faces and their babies outside of the NICU environment. We saw a few of the kids first nurses. We met up with the Belnaps, and of course, it's always fun to see Aiden and Liam and Kaleb. Calle wasn't sure about all the festivities, even big girls can get over-stimulated.

Also, in early August, we had the longest eye check-up appointment of our life. The news was what we had been expecting for some time, the twins needed glasses. So, within a week, Calle and her brother were fitted for eye glasses by the nice people at the Moran Eye Center Optical Department. Their glasses are made special for infants by Fisher Price. Yes, really...Fisher Price. Calle told us that later she wants to get frames from the Disney Princesses line, how can we say no to that. We're all still trying to get used to the glasses idea, right now Calle wants to pull them down to her mouth more than she wants to wear them.

Wow the birthday! Mom got Calle the cutest dress for the birthday "Roundup" and even made special hair accessories. Calle loves paper, she crinkles it between her hands and smiles and laughs. Mom and dad let her play with it anytime she wants because she doesn't have the nasty habit of eating it like brother. It seems, Calle's favorite gifts are a fun talking toy from Grandma Newton and her first doll from a special friend of the family and her daughter. Check out the picture in the photo album, she loves her dolly, even gives it hugs and kisses.
