Christian changes so much from week to week! It is amazing to watch his inquiring little mind assimilate the world around him. He has become quite coordinated and can play with all the toys like a pro. He loves to roll from his back to his tummy, but the problem is that he doesn't know how to get back. We'll set him on his back and he'll immediately roll over to his tummy, after which he'll struggle for a minute and then start to whine. Eventually we'll help him turn back over onto his back, at which time he immediately attempts to roll back onto his tummy...silly.

We bought a exersaucer thing hoping he'd take to it, but it is apparently a bit intimidating for him so he sits in it from time to time and plays with the attachments, but I suspect it will be a little while longer before he gets the hang of it. We have a little "piano" toy that we pull up to him while he is sitting in a chair, and he loves to play it. We haven't formalized his practice routine, but let us know if you'd like to schedule a formal recital and we'll see what we can do.

Christian has shown INCREDIBLE improvement in bottle feeding. With the GI doctor we determined how much 24 cal/oz formula he would need to take in each day in order to continue to grow well. We decided that each day we would pull the NG tube and have him bottle feed throughout the day. In the evening, right before we put him to bed, we re-tube him for the night feeds (at bed time approx 8pm, around midnight, and around 4:00 am). We must be getting something right because he is continuing to grow and we're seeing significant improvement in the quantity he is taking in -- from 1 oz. to just under 2 oz. to over 3 oz. on each bottle feed. What a big boy! In the very near future we will say goodbye to even his night tubing and we all are going to be sooooo happy.
