Christian is our little energy-pack. He wakes up early and doesn’t quit all day. If mom is lucky he’ll take a 30 minute nap once or twice, but usually he is far too interested in everything (anything) else going on. We got the kids an Exersaucer and Christian loves it (almost as much as mom loves him in it). He can entertain himself for quite a while, he loves to stand up in it and he’s pretty good at turning himself around to try to eat all the different toys.
He had the same cold/cough that Calle had, and one of them managed to pass it along to me (Matt), come to think of it, maybe it was mom. We share everything in this family!
Both Calle and Christian were diagnosed with ear infections a few weeks ago, so we had the unfortunate circumstance to need to feed Christian the antibiotics orally (Calle gets them through her 'NG' tube). He was a good sport and the antibiotics did their job against the ear infections.
Christian has been improving, slowly but surely, on his bottle feeds. Tuesday night we decided not to tube him (we have been placing an 'NG' tube at night and feeding him large volumes to make up for what he doesn’t eat in the day). He has done okay and the pediatrician is on board with closely watched trial. He has been doing well eating “solid” foods like rice cereal. He even eats some of his vegetables – we’ve started him on sweet potatoes, squash, carrots (his favorite so far) and green beans. For you parents out there, may I suggest opening a fresh bottle of Gerber Green Beans and just taking a big ole whiff right off the top? I’d rather change a diaper!
He is a fun boy and we’re so happy to have him feeling good again. Pound for pound he’d wipe up the floor with me in an endurance competition.
