Not much has changed in our situation – we are still taking "tired" to new levels and struggling to get regular stuff done around the house.

I have been in the process of redoing the flower beds in the front yard – realizing that we are not going to have time to weed them each week, and not wanting to have our house look abandoned, I’ve cleared out the beds and laid down Dupont weed-control fabric and some shredded bark. So far it has made quite a difference. Now if I could just find time to mow the back yard (thank goodness for tall fences!)

Lia had the opportunity to go out with fellow NICU moms Lisa, Ashlie and Emily to do a little shopping. It is good for those gals to get out – between the four of them there are six babies and several months spent in the NICU. It'll probably take years to get over the "cabin fever".

We had some family pictures taken a few weeks ago. The kids were really good, and our photographer did a great job to capture some really excellent shots. Its amazing that you can take your pictures, immediately review your "proofs", and have your prints in most sizes within the hour. I guess technology has really made its mark on portrait studios. Interestingly enough, the gal who took our pictures is a twin with her brother.

We’ve been regularly taking the kids to church and they generally do pretty well. It will be some time, I surmise, before we are actually able to pay much attention to the speakers and lessons without having to entertain them, or take them out for a diaper change or bottle.

Up until now we’ve been putting the kids into the same crib. Calle has been sleeping in a bouncy chair (the inclined position helps with her reflux) and Christian has been sleeping mostly level. Christian is a bit more mobile in his sleep now, and Calle can make the bouncy chair "bounce" (imagine that), causing us to decide that they’ve outgrown staying in the same crib. We were given a second crib, and have arranged it in their bedroom so that they don’t feel too cramped, now suddenly the room is twice as small.

We found a Graco Pack N’ Play Sport at Costco and we absolutely love it! We use it regularly and the kids don’t seem to mind being outdoors. It has been nice on these occasionally shady summer evenings, particularly the weekend of the 4th.
